Ballads and Songs of Michigan
7    "Whoa, Tiny! So, Tiny! Pretty little cow, stand still!
If ever I milk you again," he said, " 'Twill be against my will."
8    Then he went to feed the pigs That were within the sty;
He bumped his nose against a beam And caused the blood to fly.
9    Then he watched the speckled hen, Lest she should go astray;
But he quite forgot the ball of yarn His wife spun every day.
io He looked to the east, he looked at the west, He looked at the setting sun; He said it had been the longest day That he had ever known.
ii And when his wife came home at night, He said, "I can plainly see That you can do more work in a day Than I can do in three."
12 And when he saw how well she plowed And made the furrows even, He said she could do more work in a day Than he could do in seven.
